Bluebell Class Hub
Welcome to Bluebell class! On this page you will find information about what we are learning about in class each week and any other information that we need to share with you. If you have any questions please do come and speak to us!
We have had another wonderful and exciting week in Bluebell Class, filled with curiosity, exploration, learning and lots of smiles!
This week, our class focus has been colours, and the children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring how colours can change and mix together. During our science experiment, we used water coloured with food colouring and placed kitchen towel between the different coloured glasses. The children were fascinated to watch as the coloured water travelled through the kitchen towel, and they were very excited to see what happened when our primary colours began to mix together. It was wonderful to see their faces as they watched the experiment unfold and shared their ideas about what might happen next.
Our Forest School adventures have been particularly exciting this week! While searching for small animals and insects, the children were also on an important mission to find a tiger that had apparently been spotted by the class teacher!
Although we unfortunately didn't manage to find our tiger, the children became fantastic little explorers. They listened carefully to the different birds calling from the trees, searched through the soil for ants and worms, and showed wonderful observation skills as they safely explored around the pond, looking for frogs and tadpoles.
Perhaps our tiger will make an appearance next week. You never know what adventures await in Bluebell Class!
We have also been working hard to develop our pencil control, with the children taking part in mark-making and handwriting activities. It has been lovely to see them practising their movements and becoming increasingly confident with their pencil skills.
In Maths, we have been developing our understanding through lots of practical and imaginative activities. The children enjoyed stocking shelves with products such as doughnuts and cans of Coke. Don't worry, parents, these are only pretend products and definitely not what we have been eating or drinking in class!
The children have also been learning about road safety. Using different road layouts on tough trays, we explored how to cross roads safely and encouraged the children to identify potential hazards and think carefully about where it would be safest to cross. The children showed great awareness and were able to share some thoughtful ideas about how we can all keep ourselves safe when out and about.
A huge thank you to our wonderful Bluebell children and support staff for another fantastic week. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity and kindness the children continue to show each day.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting week of learning, laughter and adventures in Bluebell Class!
