Welcome to Year 3! On this page you will find information about what we are learning about in class each week and any other information that we need to share with you. If you have any questions please do come and speak to us!

This week in Year 3: 

A full-on week of great experience. First: Science week where the children enjoyed a series of fantastic hands-on lessons with various teachers across school. Next: the British Museum to explore and enjoy the incredible artefacts from Sutton Hoo (as part of our Anglo Saxon focus in History). 

   

Homework is in books this week. Spellings are below.

Children should come to school wearing their PE uniform. They will stay in their PE uniform for the whole day.

School uniform

Routines:

  • The school day starts promptly in class at 8.55 am. Please use the soft start from 8.45 am to ensure your child is on time. 
  • Year 3 have a library book-changing slot on a Friday afternoon. Normal reading books can be changed any day.
  • The children are able to bring in healthy snacks for break time.

Home learning:

Every Thursday, the children will be set home learning, see below. English and Maths have separate Home Learning books for the work to be completed in. Home learning should be handed in on the following Monday to allow time for it to be checked and returned before new tasks are set.

Remember to bring back reading journals with a comment or signature on Thursday.
